New record for trade participation at International HVAC&R Exhibition 2019
This year’s fair welcomed 54,781 trade visitors from 88 countries –9.7% more than in 2017– in a highly representative and dynamic edition that has brought together new developments from 374 direct exhibitors.
These results also highlight the growing importance of international visitors, who were up by 20.7% on 2017, accounting for 11% of attendance at this edition.
Extensive Spanish participation at this edition, with 33% of visitors coming from Madrid and 56% from the rest of the country.
At the present positive moment for the industry and with an increasingly dynamic market, Hvac and Refrigeration 2019 (C&R) has held one of its best and most complete editions, achieving all its targets for growth and professional participation.
And this great international event for the air conditioning, heating, ventilation, industrial and commercial refrigeration sectors organised by IFEMA from 26 February to 1 March, has brought together more content and new developments than ever through the participation of 374 direct exhibitors and 29,703 m2 of exhibition space, increases of 3% and 22.6%, respectively. A broad representation of the industry that was met with a new record of visitors to the Fair, with the attendance of 54,781 trade visitors from 88 countries, 9.7% more than in 2017.
These results also highlight the growing importance of international visitors, who were up by 20.7% on 2017, accounting for 11% of attendance at this edition. By country, Portugal, Italy, China, France, Germany and Morocco contributed the largest number of trade visitors.
As regards domestic visitors, after Madrid, at 33%, trade visitor attendance from all the regions of Spain was particularly significant, which on this occasion accounted for 56%, with a an increase in visitors from Andalusia, Catalonia and Valencia, in that order.
By professional profile, attendees were highly qualified, as evident in the substantial presence of representatives of installation companies, at 23.5%; maintenance and technical services professionals by 15.8%; engineering firms, 11.4%, and as architecture firms, construction companies and real estate developers, at 9.9%.
Great attendance at C&R FORUM and Workshops
As at every edition, the C&R FORUM programme of Technical Talks brought together numerous professionals to focus on analysis and debate about current topics of interest such as the four plenary sessions on “The Reality of Near-zero Energy Consumption Buildings”; “Relevant aspects of refrigerants”; “Updating RITE (Regulations on Thermal Installations in Buildings) to meet Ecodesign Regulations and CTE (Technical Building Code) Requirements,” and “Challenges and Opportunities for the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Sector,” including more than 60 presentations on standards and certification; Technology Changes; Systems; Refrigerants; Air Quality; Renewable Energy Applications; Combined Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Installations, and Installation Success Stories
The ACT Workshop and the Refrigeration Workshop, activities aimed at promoting best practices in the field of installations, were also held with great success, organised respectively by AGREMIA and AEFYT, the latter in collaboration with the Moratalaz Training Centre for Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technologies.
In addition, C&R’s Innovation Gallery this year highlighted 18 cutting-edge equipment products and solutions, which provided an interesting overview of the lines of research and progress on which companies in the sector are working, with special emphasis on technology development, installation optimisation and control, equipment design, new refrigerants, and issues such as comfort, energy saving and caring for the environment.
All the registration fees paid by companies participating in the Innovation Gallery were donated to the SPANISH RED CROSS and DOCTORS WITHOUT BORDERS Spain.
C&R 2019 was held in parallel with GENERA, the International Energy and Environment Fair; TECNOVA PISCINAS, the Swimming Pool Technology and Innovation Fair, and SIGA, the Fair for Innovative Water Management Solutions, a set of fairs especially aimed at the large group of professionals with an interest in technological innovation, energy efficiency and the environment.
